Lot 01, Afghan Maimaneh Kilim, 241x184cm, RRP: $2,000
ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS CAN BE PROVIDED UPON REQUEST
Lot 01, A Kilim rug, which is a type of flat-woven rug traditionally made in regions such as Anatolia, the Caucasus, and Persia. Kilims are known for their tribal, geometric designs and lack of pile (as they are woven, not knotted).
This particular Afghan Kilim is made with handspun wool and it features a rich, multi-coloured pattern with a central field composed of a series of diamond-shaped medallions arranged vertically in a repeating sequence. The central motifs are in varying shades of brown, blue, green, and ivory, creating a striking contrast. Each diamond is filled with intricate geometric designs, typical of tribal weavings. The use of alternating colours within these diamonds adds a sense of rhythm and balance to the overall composition.
The border consists of multiple bands of smaller geometric patterns, with motifs like zigzags, hooked shapes, and triangles. These patterns are repeated across the borders, using colours like rust red, earthy browns, and light blue, which complement the central field. The outermost border has a stepped, angular design, which is a classic feature in many Kilims, reflecting the tribal aesthetic and symbolic meanings often related to protection or guardianship.
Size: 241x184cm
Estimate: $600-$800
Certificate of authenticity & valuation for this rug will be sent to the buyer after purchase.

The surrounding field alternates between rich terracotta red and creamy beige, with repeating angular motifs, giving the rug a dynamic and strong aesthetic.
The border is thick and detailed, with a series of interconnected geometric and floral patterns in darker shades of brown and black, accented with cream and rust tones. This outer frame anchors the overall design and adds a sense of balance. This rug is perfect for a space that seeks a strong, statement-making element, with a traditional yet bold Persian design.

Lot 03, Afghan Maimaneh Kilim, 295x214cm, RRP: $3,500
ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS CAN BE PROVIDED UPON REQUEST
Lot 03, This kilim showcases a classic and intricate design based on a repeating geometric diamond pattern, common in flat-woven rugs from regions like Anatolia or the Caucasus. This rug’s design is dominated by a field filled with rows of small diamonds, each containing a central diamond-shaped motif in alternating colours. The diamonds are arranged in a gradient-like fashion, with the colours transitioning from the top of the rug downwards, creating a subtle but effective Ombre effect.
The colours used in the diamonds include shades of blue, green, red, brown, beige, and ivory, all of which are natural, earthy tones often associated with traditional Kilim weaving. The meticulous use of these colours across the diamonds adds depth and vibrancy to the rug, while maintaining the simplicity and harmony of the geometric repetition.
The border is relatively simple in comparison to the central field, composed of zigzag and hooked motifs running along the edges. These are done in alternating colours like green, brown, purple, and red, giving the border a decorative yet understated frame that complements the more elaborate central design.
Size: 295x214cm
