Description
Lot 14: This Afghan Turkaman Chobrang salon carpet, measuring an impressive 461×285 cm, was hand-knotted in Mazarsharif, Afghanistan, around 2016. The term “Chobrang” signifies the use of organic, natural dyes, ensuring deep, vibrant colours that age gracefully. Crafted with a handspun wool pile, the design is inspired by the magnificent patterns of the Shah Abbas court in 16th-century Isfahan during the Safavid era. This custom-made piece is not only rare but also exceptionally durable, making it a timeless addition to any collection. Its extra-large size and intricate motifs reflect both historical elegance and enduring craftsmanship.
